Friends. Our back roads are still pretty bad in many spots. But our main concern is the increased probability of freezing rain at some point tomorrow. Currently, some forecasters have us getting almost a quarter of an inch of ice before the front “hopefully” turns to rain. With all that, we are canceling school tomorrow along with many other schools in our area. Hopefully we will return Tuesday
There will be no school at Cave City on Friday. Our parking lot and main highways are clear, but most side roads and portions of the northern part of the district are still treacherous. We will make up tomorrow on Tuesday, May 28th.
There will be no school at Cave City Schools on Thursday. Main highways are mostly clear but secondary and county roads remain very unsafe. Thank you to school employees who came in today to clear sidewalks and parking lots. Due to current road conditions and frigid temperatures, there will be no school on Wednesday at Cave City. We will make a determination on our status for Thursday some time tomorrow afternoon. We will make up today by now attending school on Good Friday.
Cave City Schools will be closed on Tuesday due to inclement weather. This day will be made up on February 19th (Presidents Day). Also, basketball games scheduled at Mtn. View Tuesday night have been postponed to a later date. We have also rescheduled tonight’s board meeting to Tuesday night at 6 in the high school library.

Cave City schools will be open this morning. However, even though we are not currently under any advisory, there is potential that winter weather could impact our area later this morning. We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops and hope to at least feed our students lunch today. It is possible that we may dismiss early today in an abundance of caution. We ask parents to be aware of this possibility and to make preparations in case we need to dismiss. Also please be mindful of students who drive as we may release them prior to busses to ensure their safe travel directly to their home. For parents who need to, we understand if your situation requires you to keep your student home today due to the uncertainty. We appreciate your support and understanding.
Friends. We would like to remind you of our methods used to advise you of closures or early dismissals due to inclement weather. Your best option for information is to be signed up on our text message system or visit our Cave City School District Facebook page. We will attempt to update our Facebook page by 6:15 am when school is uncertain to give you the latest information possible. We will also contact local radio stations and KAIT 8 in Jonesboro. If you would like to be added to or removed from our system, please call 870-283-5391 extension 5037 and leave your information. In regards to uncertain weather, please be reminded that we always respect your decision to keep your child home in an abundance of caution if you have the means to do so.
